Team Moon Soup's submission to the Fighting Game April Jam 2026! As is often the case with jams, we started with lofty ambitions (especially for a few people who haven't done much/any game dev) and ended up cutting a whole bunch as the deadline got closer, but hopefully we can put out a little dev log at some point about some of the characters, stories, and mechanics that didn't make it into the game jam submission! (No promises on that, of course, never done one of those either so we can't say how realistic that'd be)

(I just realized with half an hour to go that I forgot to put this in the game, so uh, here it is, in numpad notation:)

Controls:

Keyboard: WASD for movement, HJK for Light, Medium, and Heavy (N for menus)

Controller: D-pad for movement, XYB (if xbox) for Light, Medium, and Heavy

236L/M/H: Throws the axe at various angles. If used while the axe is already out, the move does nothing.

214L/M/H: Picks up the axe and then recovers quickly, goes into an overhead attack, or goes into an invincible reversal, respectively. If used far from the axe, does nothing and goes into lengthy recovery.

22M/H: Stomps, launching the axe back towards you if it's on the ground. M is a short-range, plus-on-block pressure reset or combo ender. H is the only use of meter in the current version, identical to M except it now has a full-screen hitbox along the ground.
